Frequently Asked Questions
Does it hurt?
The needles are hair-fine and placed gently. Most clients feel nothing, or the sensation of a bubble bursting, followed by a deep sense of relaxation.
Is this relaxing or medical?
Both. It's a clinical treatment from a nationally board-certified Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, delivered in a warm, unhurried room. Clients often tell us it feels like a spa visit.
Is there any downtime?
None. Most clients return to their day right after, refreshed and glowing.
How many sessions will I need?
We recommend weekly sessions for 12 weeks, then maintenance. We map a personalized plan at your first visit.
How is it different from regular acupuncture?
Unlike regular acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture works on two levels simultaneously. Facial points stimulate collagen, lift, and tone — while full-body points address the internal patterns behind your skin concerns: sleep, stress, digestion, and hormonal balance.
How does it compare to Botox?
Botox and cosmetic acupuncture are two different routes to the same goal. Botox paralyzes the muscle to prevent the movement that causes lines. Cosmetic acupuncture does the opposite — it reminds the muscle how to function properly, releases held tension, and rebuilds collagen to smooth lines from the inside out. One suppresses. The other restores.
Can I still get Botox alongside cosmetic acupuncture?
Yes. The two work well together. Cosmetic acupuncture supports your Botox results, helps them last longer, and can reduce the units needed over time. Clients combining both will start in the maintenance phase of one to two sessions per month — gently enhancing skin health and muscle function without interfering with your injectables. Please note: we ask that you wait a minimum of two weeks after any injectable treatment before receiving cosmetic acupuncture.
